Fabric Brooch

Hello fellow bloggers!  Fall has made an appearance over the weekend and I am absolutely delighted!  Love that touch of crispness in the air.  However, it will be a bit short lived as warmer temperatures are expected again this week.  I just hope Fall returns for a much longer appearance soon!

Today, I am sharing something a bit different.  A friend and I decided to swap fabric brooches.  You Tube is filled with lots of tutorials and examples.  They are quite easy to make.  I began by cutting a strip of felt and covering it with a lacy fabric.  The sides were edged with lace trim and a piece of dangle lace was attached to the bottom.  A small applique was glued to the top.  Next, I took a fabric image and edged it with lace and pearls.  Some batting was placed under the image to give it dimension when attached to the backing.  Pretty little fabric roses, bling and a bow were used to dress it up.  If you look closely, you can see very small gold doilies under each rose.  A kilt pin was used to attach the brooch to whatever you wish.

This is what the back of the brooch looks like.  I added lace trim at the top and bottom of the back to give it a more finished look.  Best part of all?  No sewing required!  I used Fabric Tac to adhere everything.

This took no time at all to put together.  I don't think I would actually wear this but it may be used on a purse or hung up as a decoration.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by.  Your comments are much appreciated.  Have a wonderful week ahead.

It cooled off, then we got a heat wave, then it cooled off, but now they're saying more heat next week! I need 5 different coats in the closet this time of year! lol. hugs :)
